500 _aReports the findings of a study on the association between health care financing systems, health care consumers drug use and health providers prescribing. The study conducted in six counties in China focused on outpatients who it suggests consumed a higher average number of drugs per visit as compared to the insured patients who have a higher average medical cost. This comparison means that the out-patients drugs are cheaper than those of insured patients indicating a difference in the quality of health care received by the two groups. The findings from the health provider survey, patient interviews and prescription analyses are all discussed in the book and from these conclusions and recommendations suggested.
