The development of Tanzania National Road Map Strategic Plan to Accelerate Reduction of maternal and New born Deaths is a timely response to this call. The road Map specifically seeks to provide guidance to national efforts in addressing maternal and newborn health.It recognizes the existence of other strategies and initiatives with respect to reproductive and child health care, such as the safe mother hood initiative (SMI), family planning (FP), Focused Antenatal care (FANC), Prevention of mother to child transmission HIV (PMTCT),Integrated Management of child hood Illness, (IMCI), immusation and Infant and Young Child Feeding and Nutrition among others.
