Attempts to control women's bodies and sexuality, in one form or another, as made in other parts of the world. The harmful practice is still regarded as an important ritual in Somali society. State that Somali has the highest rate of FGM in the world, WHO estimates the prevalence to be at 98%. Raises awareness and sensitisation of the community made through information campaigns, education and training workshops.
