Presents a study of Uganda often cited as an example of a rare success in reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Africa a continent facing a severe aids crisis from close to 30% I the 1980?s to 6.4% in the year 2002. Kawempe Community Health Development Project located in a poor informal urban setting of Kampala aims to improve sexual and reproductive health services available for female commercial sex workers and equip them with employable skills for behaviour change.
