Discusses issues of population and urban growth and the resulting deterioration of hygienic and sanitary conditions in the urban slums of sub-saharan Africa. In addition, it looks at health status in terms of prevalent diseases in African slums, health care, and the stat of water supply, shelter and sanitation.
