Primary health care: Experiences in Eastern and Southern Africa
- Nairobi African Medical and Research Foundation, Kenya 1992
- viii, 154p.
The book presents discussions on the successes and failures of community based health care projects. The political, administrative, economic and community settings in which programmes are designed and carried out are described indicating the differences from one country to another and the strategies and processes involved in the implementation. The PHC programmes in the various counties are evaluated in the discussions proposing recommendations on how they can be improved. The comparison of the different countries experiences provides a reflection of the general impact of PHC programmes in Africa.
