Examines the impact that chemotherapy has had on the treatment of tuberculosis. A historical survey of tuberculosis is provided mentioning the different treatments that have been used over time and the improvements that have been made with regards to developments in therapy. Using case studies from Switzerland, the repetitive cycle within which the disease occurs is discussed highlighting the different stages it goes through. The impact of chemotherapy on the disease and its conditions is analysed with regards to its costs and benefits.
