2007 Bangladesh demographic and health survey is the fifth survey to be conducted in Bangladesh. It is a periodic survey conducted in Bangladesh to serve as a source of population and health data for policy makers, programme managers and the research community as it aims to provide information to meet the monitoring and evaluation needs of health and family planning programs, and to provide program managers and policymakers involved in these programs with the information on fertility and childhood mortality levels,fertility preferences,awareness, approval and use of family planning methods, breastfeeding practices,nutrition levels,marternal and child health,awareness of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases,knowledge of tuberculosis and domestic violence.
