Explains the possibilities of drug resistance in HIV treatment, what the possible causes of drug resistance are, what can be used to detect that someone has drug resistance, choices for the next treatment combination and how ensure that the next treatment regime works. Despite having over 25 drugs approved and others in development, patients continue getting drug resistance. Manual explains that one of the best thing to do is to change drugs when one develops resistance as it might be impossible to get resistance from all combination although. Recommends that regular tests must be done to monitor the progress and the response of the patients.
