The treaty sets out a bold vision for the eventual unification of the EAC partner states. It outlines a comprehensive system of cooperation among the partner states in Trade, Investments and Industrial Development; Monetary and Fiscal policy; Infrastructure and Services; Human Resources, Science and technology; free movement of factors of production; Agriculture and food Security; Environment and Natural Resources Management; Tourism and Wildlife Management. Other areas outlined in the treaty are health, social and cultural activities, the role of women in socio-economic development etc. it also provides the stages in the development of the East African regional integration.
