Describes how Knowledge hubs were established in Eastern Europe and central Asia and their role in HIV prevention, care and treatment. Each knowledge hub was established with its vision , some did training to build the capacity and develop skills of epidemiologist and health managers and in other countries the Hub helped establish HIV surveillance and in others it boosted their quality strengthening prevention. Further describes how the Hubs were designed to assist countries in strengthening health sector response to HIV using the new resources from fight against AIDS, TB and Malaria fund (GFATM). Sets an example that other regions might adapt to drive the formation of knowledge hubs and boost response to the pandemic HIV/AIDS.
