Presents an assessment that was carried out in order to upgrade Wau referral hospital in South Sudan from the perspective of services, organization,systems, cost and physical infrastructure.Examines the health strategy developed by the government which entails development and strengthening of health systems, health financing, designing and construction of physical health facilities.Recommends that the Government should finalise and implement the interim health strategy,review and update the legal framework for the health personnel council and develop and implement a health financing policy as part of the health systems strengthening.
