Discusses the causes of health inequity and attributes it to social factors like unequal distribution of power, income,goods and services, access to health care, schools and education.Empasizes the need for Governments, civil societies and local communities to come up with appropriate social policies to help close the gap of health inequality.Recommends improvement of living conditions of daily life of people for example participatory urban governance, improving rural infrastructure and services, health care financing and safe and decent work standards.There is a need to have a national and global health equity surveillance system to help in monitoring the closing of the gap. Training and educationon social determinants of health will also contribute to help bridge health inequality.
