Findings of a participatory poverty assessment study are reported herein. Data collection was by participatory techniques such as social mapping, pile sorting, gender analysis and focus group discussions. Its most critical finding is that poor people know that they are poor because they do not have access to basic services, they however feel that it?s desirable for them to move from their hopeless situation. Other findings are discussed in the report which also contains conclusions drawn from the findings and remedial recommendations.Study was funded by the Department for International Development (DFID)
