Discusses how compression therapy can be used in the effective management of leg ulcers. Information on the anatomy and physiology of leg ulcers is provided highlighting its effects on the functioning of the leg and other parts of the body. The origins of leg ulceration, patient assessments and professional intervention are all discussed. Details of causative agents, therapeutics and complications that arise in dealing with leg ulcers are examined providing remedial measures that should be undertaken. Different types of intervention that have been implemented in the past are assessed and their shortcomings highlighted.
