Presents the course content on the issues facing disabled people who want to be integrated into their own local communities. The course discusses the need for changing practice in caring for and supporting the disabled in order to remove barriers the barriers that restrict the active participation of the disabled in community activities. The book presents an interactive approach to use in the care of the disabled and identifying with them. It presents ways of identifying obstacles and how these can be managed through communication. It suggests ways of empowering the disabled for instance through self-help activities and civil rights.
