The findings reported in this report are based on survey of the trade and utilisation of game meat conducted in east and southern Africa. The report suggests that the lack of information often leads to contradictions over legal and illegal utilisation and trade of game meat. It documents the parameters of the utilization of wild meat, its economic value to rural communities, and the impact of harvest on protected areas and individual species valued in the trade.
