Examines discussion papers that were presented to International Health Policy Program (IHPP) whose aim is to enable African and Asian professionals to provide policymakers in their countries with expert advice on an ongoing basis. These discussion papers, which were written by three renowned policymakers provide information on the types of research found to be most useful by policymakers. The policymakers examined their personal experiences and identified cases whereby research findings that were designed to shape policy had, or had not, been effective.
