Presents the basic principles and facts of human physiology in a manner that is suitable for undergraduate students in various health professions such as biology, nursing or pharmacy, including dental students. Homeostasis is the central theme of human physiology and of this book. The book progresses from the cell to the body, making use of information and principles developed earlier at each level of complexity. For example, instead of presenting, in one chapter, a gland-by-gland description of all the hormones, a description of the basic principles of endocrinology is given earlier, but the details of individual hormones given later.
