Result of a year-long intensive study of secondary data on social, demographic, economic, and other factors that have contributed to the demographic transition underway in Kenya. Defines demographic transition as a process in which societies move from a stage of high fertility and mortality through a phase of rapid population growth as mortality declines but fertility remains high, to a state of stable low fertility and mortality.
