Discusses the factors to consider when preparing a curriculum for health education that aims to achieve behaviour and attitude changes. The different institutions at which health education is taught are reviewed with particular interest in the content of the curriculum. Ways of using education to improve health behaviour are discussed reflecting on previous education programmes to highlight the limitations faced and those that contributed to their success or failure.Report of a Conference Held in Nyeri in 1986, 9-12, March
