Reports on a study to assess the training needs of lab assistants which was conducted in various health facilities in the 24 districts of Uganda which was to assess the training needs of lab assistants. The study identified the major training needs of lab assistants include knowledge in some aspects of basic sciences, skills in preparation of reagents, blood grouping, record keeping and supervision of lab attendants and cleaners.
