| General note | Discusses the plight of children living in urban areas in terms of the kind of environment that they are exposed to when growing up, the challenges that the children face when living in this urban areas as well as various measures that the government and the non-governmental organizations have taken in ensuring that some if not all of these challenges are alleviated. Brings to our attention the harsh reality on the exposure of children to hard labour at a tender age when they should be studying in school. This is because of the high levels of poverty that come with city life forcing them to work in order to supplement their parents? income.
