| General note | The process of implementing primary health care in a community is described in this book addressing the problems that arise and suggesting ways of handling them. The discussions are obtained from technical advisors and papers on specific PHC projects. The importance of bringing about interactions between the rationality of people and that of health workers is explained with emphasis on the people?s demands, social costs of the underlying problems, effectiveness of the solutions, and the effort required to make the solutions work. Other areas discussed include community based health care, personnel development and training, and financing systems. Case studies of PHC projects are included to illustrate the applicability of the concepts discussed. |
