NDHS 2006 is the seventh in a series of demographic surveys conducted as part of the worldwide Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) program.Supplements and compliments the information on population and health issues,and provides guidance in planning,implementing,monotoring and evaluating Nepal?s health programs.Explains how the results of the survey assist in the monitoring of the progress made towards meeting the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs). Includes topics related to fertility lavels and determinants, family planning, fertility levels and marternal mortality, marternal and child health, nutrition, knowledge of HIV/AIDS and women?s empowerment. 2006 NDHS for the first time also includes anemia testing among women age between 15-49 and children age 6-59 months.USAID /Nepal provided financial support for the success of the survey.
