Women constructing their lives: Women construction workers; four evaluative case studies - Nairobi United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat) 1997 - 144p.

Presents four case studies describing the roles that women play as home makers and house builders in construction work. The studies discuss the stereotypes that exist about women and houses in different cultures and how these are dealt with by women in the construction sector who are perceived to be doing men?s work. Each case study provides a historical and contextual background of the country in which it is conducted showing the cultural differences that exist. Conclusions and suggested recommendations are provided at the end of each study.
